About my Teaching

Adelaide Leung

Adelaide Leung (MM former master student at UNLV, presently in the DMA program at University of Oklahoma).

"The two years (2004-06) that I spent studying with Professor Elisi definitely had a positive impact on me as a pianist and musician. As a teacher, he challenged me, both technically and musically; as a performer, he truly inspired me. He also seems to really care about his students and wants to help out as much as possible, which, with his very busy schedule, isn't easy!"

Claudia Badillo

Claudia Badillo (MM student at UNLV).

"Prof. Elisi, you are the kind of person this world needs more of, because you live by what you believe in, and reach out to make a difference. Thank you for being my teacher!"

Elsa Griffin
Elsa Griffin (BM student at UNLV).

"Your instruction and friendship have meant the world to me. Your time, patience and dedication really paid off. I will never forget the wonderful things I learned with you last semester. Those memories will always remain with me, as a pianist and a as person."

Jed Gaylin, Conductor

Jed "I have on occasion observed Dr. Elisi teach and witnessed a gracious and charming instructor, showing an instantaneous grasp of what the student needed, but who was able to convince the student that he or she discovered that key themselves. He is patient, yet demanding in a particularly cheerful way, so that anyone would only want to explore the directions he is leading so clearly and yet with such grace and humor."

Julian Martin, Pianist/Pedagogue, Juilliard School

Julian Martin

Elisi's work bears all the marks of a great teacher. He is meticulous, verbally acute, imaginative, resourceful and consistently communicative. Watching is mind at work was always challenging and rewarding for me as for the student at hand. Elisi was unquestionably among the very best candidates to pass through Peabody's DMA program during my tenure. He is a person of great integrity, sensitivity and charm. I offer him my heartiest endorsement.
