Class objective (for more details see syllabus)
The class develops the students' performance skills, as well as the their knowledge of the piano repertoire.

Details
The duration of this class is one hour in length. In the
earlier part of the semester, students will be asked to comment after
their peers' performances. This is a critical aspect of this class and
everyone must get accustomed to a type of critical listening
(not a passive one).
All performances (and students' comments) are
generally followed by short remarks from the instructor. There will be tests
for undergraduate students only, although graduate students should also
take part in the scales/arpeggios tests.
Near the end of the
semester the entire time of the class is devoted to student performances
only.

The class meets at 8:30 pm on selected Tuesdays. Exceptions: see dates in red (if any) in the calendar above.
